CVMMT-Jamaica Lynchburg, Virginia, United States CVMMT was founded in 2001 by Rev. Dick Daily, then pastor of Mountain View United Methodist Church in Forest, VA, to provide medical care to the improvished area of St. Thomas Parish, Jamaica. In the spring of 2002 seven members of the CVMMT traveled to Jamaica on a fact finding mission. Our group included 1 physician, 1 pastor, and 5 nurses. We spent a week touring the parish, medical clinics, Princess Margaret Hospital and the EX ED Nurse Training Programme at the hospital. In 2003 we returned to Jamaica and held a health fair and 1 medical clinic each day. We also took laparoscopic gallbladder equipment to donate to Princess Margaret Hospital and assisted them in surgery. Over the years we have continued to have a community health fair and now hold 3 medical clinics each day. We have expanded our services to include dentists and vision specialists. This year our team of 32 doctors, nurses, medical students, vision technicians, dental assistants and pastor will return to Jamaica from April 17 - 25. Please keep our team in your thoughts and prayers and we travel to St. Thomas Parish to provide medical clinics, medications, vision care and glasses, and dental care.
